A. of course Neuroibromatosis or NF for short is a genetic disorder some rarely call is von, Reclinghaunsen.That can effect every person diagnosed with it differently. It can cause Cafe au lait spots which yes stands for coffee with milk in French, there spots on the skin that look literally like the name says, and they can range in size. i can also get bumps on my skin called fibromas and there benign tumors which means that they are harmless, and they can appear anywhere on the body. outside or inside. another isible side effect is freckles although they are mainly appear in the armpit and lower regions of the boy hey can appear anywhere. NF can also cause learning disabilities and sometimes deformeties. of the bones and or spine, Turmors can sometimes form as well. there are 2 main types of NF, type 1 which is what i have, and type 2 its more rare and there is a 3rd type but its know s Schwannomatosis which is even rarer and not much is know about it. I have an optic nerve glioma which causes blindness on my right eye. I was treated for the when i was young but the chemo didn’t help. any questions ASK ME

A. NO NF is a genetic disorder, although there is sometimes a mutation, it is not something you can catch like the flu
